Title: N Is For Nothing At All
Author: Unspoken Tragedy
Pairing/Characters: Alan, (one of the Eppes boys)
Rating: T
Length: 661 words
Summary: What do you say to a parent about their dead son?
Why I'm reccing this fic: Because it is really well written and so full of angst. Alan is confronted with his worst nightmare and now has nothing left but memories and regrets. Unspoken Tragedy is a master at dark and tragic fics and she has definitely done it again with this one.

N Is For Nothing At All

Title: 49858
Author: Cascade Waters
Pairing/Characters: Alan, Don
Rating: T
Length: 2,390 words
Summary: Time bleeds away...
Why I'm reccing this fic: Another great Alan angst fic. Don has been attacked by a suspect and it was unsure whether or not he'll survive, so Alan can do nothing but wait. While he does so he thinks of all the things that have been left unsaid between himself and his eldest, and of all the misunderstandings and tension between them due to his past and Don's career. Great tension and it deals with the issues from Protest that I felt were never fully resolved.

Title: Where Are We?
Author: FraidyCat
Pairing/Characters: Don, Charlie, Alan, OFC
Rating: T
Length: 20,820
Why I'm reccing this fic:  This is a great, tense fic where Don and Charlie wake up in a room with no idea how they got there and why they're injured.  We see the team trying to track them down and the brothers trying to keep each other alive and sane.  Alan shines in this story when he has to deal with the insane woman holding his boys hostage.

I'm going to limit myself to one per season (very, very hard!).

Season 1 - the scene at the end of Structural Corruption, where Charlie is brooding in the eatery. Alan looks at Don and has a whole conversation with him in that one look. Don obediently distracts Charlie by mentioning Occam's Razor.

Season 2 - has to be Protest, of course. *The* Alan episode of the show so far, IMO. And predictably, I'm going with the scene at the end *g* Favourite exchange is the "Commie", "G-Man" one between Don and Alan. (And for trivia fans, that is a real pic of Judd Hirsch on the front of his FBI file).

Season 3 - I'm going for Provenance here. It was harder to pick something this time, because they've moved the focus away from Eppes family scenes in this season :pouts: But I like the way Charlie is at odds with Alan in this one, over the house etc. And the final scene, where Don comes home to find Alan, Larry and Charlie have started without him, and Alan uses an Einstein-esque quote was good.

Thinking about it, Judd Hirsch portrays Alan brilliantly throughout the series and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wishes they were part of the extended Eppes family, because of him...

Title: Father Figure
Author: 3rdgal
Pairing/Characters: Alan, Don
Rating: R
Length: 150K
Why I'm reccing this fic: Wonderfully strong Alan in this fic. Alan is forced to take care of a wounded Don as he tries to get the both of them out of a sticky situation.
