Admin: Looking for Fandom Input

No new theme this week; instead, a question. What would you like to see done with this community? I can’t believe that there aren’t any good fic, art or vids that people want to rec, so I can only guess that the theme format is not working for most people.

Would it be easier if this was a ‘rec what you want, when you want’ comm?

Does the Numb3rs fandom not need a rec comm at all?

Please share your ideas on how this rec comm can best serve the fandom!

Thank you.

I think it would be easier if it was a rec what you want, when you want comm, however, I myself would wait until May 19th to make any decisions. I think much of the Numb3rs fandom has paused, and whether or not the rec comm starts up again depends on whether or not Numb3rs is renewed.

*crosses fingers and hopes mightily*

I just find that I don't have the time or energy to do recs, even on my LJ, which is why I haven't taken part.

It worries me greatly that several people have mentioned May 19th as though that date will mark the end of the Numb3rs fandom. Even without new episodes, the fandom can continue. It just... breaks my heart to think of Numb3rs fading into oblivion when it has been such a wonderful show and quite a wild, fandom ride.

Lots of folks are busy with their N3 big bangs, and finishing up school and god knows I'm just plain worn out Monday - Thursday after working and then an hour/hour and a half at the gym so all my fandom delights have to come on the weekends. Even with that, I'll admit - I would probably rec more fic without the weekly themes. I've rec'd fic at my LJ and at [livejournal.com profile] davidsinclair and [livejournal.com profile] savecolby because it didn't happen to fit the rec of the week here. I think when the fandom was more active (it has been kind of quiet although not too quiet), the weekly themes were great! Maybe now, "rec as you want" will work better. I still think a rec community is a good idea. I think that is where a lot of people remembered fic to nominate for the N3 awards and such. This is at least a place to start looking when it comes time.

Hmmmm... I'm probably more likely to go with rec what you want, when you want. It would be nice to have a place where we could come and enthuse after reading something amazing, or someone has just put up the most amazing banners or wallpapers or such.

I can never think of what to rec each week! I'm never that organised. This is the first year I've started adding posts to my memories for next year's awards... *shifty look*

Dittoing all the rec what you want, when you want comments. I'd love to be more active in this community, it's just that I often missed themed weeks and so have to wait.
