Admin: Looking for Fandom Input

No new theme this week; instead, a question. What would you like to see done with this community? I can’t believe that there aren’t any good fic, art or vids that people want to rec, so I can only guess that the theme format is not working for most people.

Would it be easier if this was a ‘rec what you want, when you want’ comm?

Does the Numb3rs fandom not need a rec comm at all?

Please share your ideas on how this rec comm can best serve the fandom!

Thank you.

It worries me greatly that several people have mentioned May 19th as though that date will mark the end of the Numb3rs fandom. Even without new episodes, the fandom can continue. It just... breaks my heart to think of Numb3rs fading into oblivion when it has been such a wonderful show and quite a wild, fandom ride.

Lots of folks are busy with their N3 big bangs, and finishing up school and god knows I'm just plain worn out Monday - Thursday after working and then an hour/hour and a half at the gym so all my fandom delights have to come on the weekends. Even with that, I'll admit - I would probably rec more fic without the weekly themes. I've rec'd fic at my LJ and at [livejournal.com profile] davidsinclair and [livejournal.com profile] savecolby because it didn't happen to fit the rec of the week here. I think when the fandom was more active (it has been kind of quiet although not too quiet), the weekly themes were great! Maybe now, "rec as you want" will work better. I still think a rec community is a good idea. I think that is where a lot of people remembered fic to nominate for the N3 awards and such. This is at least a place to start looking when it comes time.

I think there is an element of holding our breaths until we know one way or the other. It's the feeling of being in limbo that is getting to some people, I think.

Personally, I've never been bothered about being an a fandom where the canon has now closed. So if the worst happens and we don't get any more Numb3rs episodes, I certainly wouldn't be walking away from the fandom.

Good grief, I've only just got up the courage to starting writing in N3 fandom!!! *grins*

Yeah, I can see that. I hate being in limbo. I wish they would have just told us already. I feel like not knowing is some form of cruel and unusual punishment that we don't deserve. LOL.

I'm with you - I'm not bothered about being in a fandom where canon is closed. I'm still hoping for the best, but I'm not going anywhere even if the worst happens with the show. :)
