This week’s theme is: Rec Your Own 2008

Yep, we’re doing something a little bit different this week. Numb3rs Awards will be opening nominations soon, and I thought this would give people a chance to pimp their own fic, graphics, music vids . . . Whether it’s something you’re particularly proud of because you took a chance you wouldn’t normally have done, or whether you think it’s the best fic/graphic/vid you’ve ever created in your history of fandom, or whether you think it’s something that might have flown under the radar and should get a second look, go ahead and rec three of your top/favorite/underrated fic/graphics/vids of 2008.

You have until midnight (wherever you are *g*) Sunday, January 25 to post your recs here!

Rec Your Own 2008

This is an interesting idea, letting authors point out fic that didn't get enough attention in 2008. (Thanks, Spiked!) I have a really bad habit of posting a ton of great fic in December to get it out before the year ends, totally missing the fact that almost nobody's online reading fic during the holidays. /headdesk/ So here's three (it was tough to choose!) out of a bunch of my December fic people might have missed while out having fun.

This year people are adding links to the End of Year fic memes which often list which fic they think were best/their favorites, which is a great place to shop for fic to read and nominate.

Why I'm reccing this fic: It's fun. Jelsemium challenged us to write a crossover with a game show, and this one seemed perfect. The research was fun -- watching episode after episode of "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader" and, of course, Numb3rs.
