[livejournal.com profile] mustangcandi has such a great writing style that you can easily get lost in her fic, whether it's a full-length or a drabble. She writes multiple pairings/characters and always keeps things interesting. Whether she's writing something action-packed, angst-ridden, or schmoopy, you are certain to find something that suits your fancy when it comes to her works.

You can check out her writing journal at [livejournal.com profile] candisquill. There are so many that I would recommend that I couldn't possibly begin to mention them all here, so hop on over and immerse yourself in the world of Numb3rs as brought to you by my fave author. : )

StatsGrandma has been writing Numb3rs fic since 2006. She's written a few wonderful one-shots, but her "Their Days are Numb3red" epic, beginning with "The Life of Gram" is really a must-read. Stats is a biostatistics professor and she's one of the few authors I've read who really knows what Charlie, Amita and Larry are talking about! Her series has grown along its own path, and by now I would classify it as AU. But she really understands the characters, and her portrayal of their family life is truly amazing! She only posts at Fanrush, but I'm hearing rumors that she's setting up her own website where her fiction will continue into the future.

Here's a link to her master list at Fanrush: StatsGrandma's fic

I've been fortunate to share three fandoms with [livejournal.com profile] audrarose and even when I do not share a fandom with her, I still read all of her fan fiction because it's just that good. Unfortunately, she no longer writes Numb3rs fan fiction but she left more than a few gems with us – mostly Don/Charlie, but a bit of gen and other slash. Her writing has a distinct style that lends itself to angst but in a way that enhances its veristic qualities – it's never emo porn for the sake of emo.

[livejournal.com profile] audrarose keeps a master list as well as a Numb3rs fic tag. Enjoy.

[livejournal.com profile] dsudis has sadly moved on from the Numb3rs fandom, but while she was here she gifted us with a bunch of fantastic fic. Dira is one of the few authors whose grocery list I’d read because she’s just that awesome a writer. A lot of her fic is Don/Charlie, but she’s written other pairings, such as David/Colby, as well.

The writing team of [livejournal.com profile] penguingal and [livejournal.com profile] schnaucl have provided the fandom with some wonderful fic. They can be counted on to tell a great story, and among all the fic they’ve written you’ll find some angst, some romance, and the sex (whether sweet or rough) is always smokin’ hot! Their pairings vary widely and include Don/Charlie, Don/Ian, Charlie/Ian, Don/Charlie/Ian and Don/Charlie/Billy.

Their jointly written fic may be found at [livejournal.com profile] penguin_fics.

[livejournal.com profile] maerhys is relatively new to the Numb3rs fandom (she’s been here for about 6 months now), and she writes utterly fabulous and painfully beautiful Don/Charlie fic. If you’ve read even one of her lovely fic, you know what I mean. And if you haven’t, then you don’t know what you’re missing!

[livejournal.com profile] irena_adler and her Watson 'verse will always be the first thing I rec. It was the first thing I read in the Numb3rs fandom when I was searching for fic and remains one of my favorites. The 'verse has a little something for everyone from kid!fic to the kinkiest porn imaginable and is a must read.

[livejournal.com profile] sororcula continues to astound me with her writing talent. Her porn is hot, her schmoop is sweet, and she writes in all genres from gen to slash. If you like OFC's and Colby/OFC, take a gander at her OFC series You've Got What Gets Me, (Every Time), and Simply a Wow.

~~~
[livejournal.com profile] spikedluv's fics never fail to give me a thrill when I read them. She's written a little something in every genre, from schmoop to angst to crossover to the pure crack-tastic and I love her writing style. Go and read!!
Author: [livejournal.com profile] sour_louise
[livejournal.com profile] sour_louise has given us some amazing Don/Colby fic. Her writing is beautiful and her stories are both hot (with some lovely kink) and heartbreakingly angsty. (She’s also written David/Colby.)
Check out all of [livejournal.com profile] sour_louise’s fic at her Fic Master List.
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] anuminis
[livejournal.com profile] anuminis has created some lovely Don/Colby graphics. One of my favorites is this Don/Colby wallpaper, as well as this icon I'm using. *points to icon*
All of her graphics can be found under her Colby/Don tag or at [livejournal.com profile] colby_don.
Episode: 4.01 Trust Metric
It was tough to narrow down my favorite Don/Colby episode, especially as I’m partial to Don giving Colby nicknames, like ‘Colb’ and ‘Idaho’ *g*, but I went with Trust Metric because Colby calling Don showed how much Colby trusted Don, even though he knew that Don had no reason to trust him. Plus, the image of Don rewatching Colby’s interrogation tape, looking for something, some explanation of how he missed Colby being a traitor, or some sign that it was all a big fat lie. And then giving Colby the benefit of the doubt at the end (because none of them really wanted to believe that Colby had been a traitor), and rushing to the rescue, getting there just in time to save his life . . . . Yeah, that has to be one of the best Don/Colby eps.
[livejournal.com profile] sour_louise is relatively new to the Numb3rs fandom, but she’s already graced us with some lovely Don/Colby fic, among other pairings. Her writing is beautiful and her stories are both haunting and hot. Give ‘em a try. *g*
Author:  Miriam Heddy
Pairing/Characters: Larry/Charlie
Rating:
FRAO, NC-17
Why I'm reccing this author:
I couldn't let this week go by without reccing the incredible Miriam Heddy and her Larry/Charlie fic.  Yes, I said Larry/Charlie and it totally works!  Miriam completely groks Larry.  And Charlie too.  Her fic manages to be hot and sweet with allowing any intruding thoughts about a naked Peter MacNicol.  My favorites are Off the Plane of the Ecliptic (where size and Pluto and car sex are debated), Talking out of School (where Larry goes to extraordinary lengths to deflect some gossip) and Identity Theft (Charlie gets amnesia).  Go and read!
I can't single out one particular story by [livejournal.com profile] spikedluv to rec, that is an episode tag, because she has so many. So instead, I'm going to direct you to her web page, which has several tags, including ones for Assassin and Bettor or Worse. This is the link to the web page and the two I've mentioned are the first two on the page...
I'd like to rec [livejournal.com profile] emmademarais to you today. Emma is a very challenging author to read. She likes to experiment in her writing, style-wise, as well as the characters and pairings that she writes. Emma doesn't have a website, but at the end of each month she does a round-up post in her journal of that month's writings (note this includes non-Numb3rs fic, too).
She has a number of series, my favourite Don/Charlie series being the Last Call series. There is also the Obshina series, which is Charlie/Ian and the Wild Card series which is Larry/Megan. The Hanukkah series is a nice look at the brothers through the years, which goes from gen to 'cest over its course.
Emma is an author well worth devoting your time and attention to. And in addition to her writing talents, she is also a co-mod over at [livejournal.com profile] numb3rs100, encouraging other writers to contribute to the fandom, and supports other people's comms as well.
(I'm posting this now before [livejournal.com profile] spikedluv's official opening/closing posts because I'm expecting to have no electricity at some point today)
Hi, my name is Andi and I'm going to be your tour guide Barbie for this week's Numb3rs recs. I aim to have a different theme each day that I post and I'm starting with gen authors.
First up, the talents of dHall. The stories are case-related and showcase the brothers' relationship well. She has an interesting series, called "No Common Allegiance", which is about a gang in L.A. and how Charlie, and later, Don get involved in them. I will warn for a character death in story 3, which is the longest (and angstiest) of the three. But there is lots of Eppes family comfort to balance the Eppes family hurt that occurs.
Secondly, we have OughtaKnowBetter who again writes long, plotty, case stories. These cover an interesting variety of cases and again, I enjoy the portrayal of the brothers and their relationship in these stories. I can't really pick a favourite out of these stories, as each one is so different. And I enjoy the story summaries as well *g*
Up third is, appropriately enough, 3rdgal. I'm giving you the link to her page at ff.net as it has more stories than at CalSci Library. This is an author who writes a mixture of short and long pieces. Again, the longer stories are well plotted and often case-related. One thing I admit to liking about her stories, is that they include a fair amount of Don-hurt. As a Don-babe, that is the sort of thing I like to see! Again, I enjoy the family relationships and the characterisation of all the Eppes family.
There are a lot of good gen authors out there, writing long case-related stories, which is something I really enjoy reading. I hope you like this sample offering and I'll be back with another post tomorrow. As the tour guide Barbie said in SG1's "2010", "We're walking"...
When I first started reading Numb3rs fanfic last summer, about the only one writing Charlie/Colby was [personal profile] umbralillium (at that time, Dani Kitten, now Lily Sheridan).  Luckily, the adage of “beggers can’t be choosers” didn’t apply here, since Lily is an excellent writer. She’s written a variety of series with C/C, including AU, and covers my favorite things to see in fanfic – quality Ocs, agents with kids, angsty romance, banter, family situations, good action, hot sex … I’m afraid she’s off mostly writing Supernatural these days, but she’s left us with some great reading!
I debated which particular story to rec, and decided to go with Precious Moments. It’s AU, with the main difference being Charlie doesn’t work with the FBI. This doesn’t mean a great deal except for the fact that Colby and Charlie first meet on the dance floor. Steamy dancing is followed by steamy in-the-dark-hallway sex followed by Colby taking Charlie home for more sex and sweet morning-after talk.  The next day Colby is completely distracted at work, then floored when the reason for his distraction walks into the office …
[livejournal.com profile] audrarose has not only written some beautiful Numb3rs fic, she’s a wonderful person, and also the gal I blame credit for getting me hooked on Numb3rs in the first place. She sent me copies of the first season which I practically mainlined, twice, in the course of a few weeks, and the rest, as they say, is history. *g*
The thing I love about Audra’s stories are the gorgeous detail and description she includes. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, I want to write like Audra when I grow up. My only regret is that she is no longer in the fandom to gift us with her wonderful stories, but those she has given us are well worth the read.
The first Numb3rs fic of Audra’s I read, which just happens to be the first she wrote *g*, was The Arms of the Galaxy. She calls it Gen, but even being so new to the fandom that I didn’t know anything except that Don and Charlie were brothers, and even though I still (erroneously, apparently) believed that incest really isn’t my thing, I could clearly see the Don/Charlie vibes.
Title: The Arms of the Galaxy
Author: [livejournal.com profile] audrarose
Pairing/Characters: Don, Charlie, Terry
Rating: PG13
Length: 1750 words
A brief excerpt: Don knew they didn’t need to worry, though. He could make Charlie laugh. If Charlie ever went too far, or stayed away too long, Don could always bring him back with funny faces and silly sounds. As long as he could make Charlie laugh, as long as he could make Charlie see him, he knew that Charlie would be okay.
If you’re not into Don/Charlie, she’s also written a Charlie/Larry and a Charlie Colby fic.
If my rec isn’t enough to persuade you, you’ve got all the people who voted for her in last year’s round of Numb3rs Awards. The Arms of the Galaxy won Best Drama (Gen), Belief won Best Humor/Fluff (Gen), her untitled series of fic, Absolution, Resolution, and Connection to Reality, won Best Hurt/Comfort (D/C Slash) and Best Series (D/C Slash), and Sooner or Later (Charlie/Larry) won Best Romance (Other Slash). In addition, she won Best General Author and Best D/C Slash Author. This round, G is for Gamble (Don/Charlie/Edgerton) has been nominated for Best Threesome/Moresome. You’re doing yourself a disservice if you haven’t read her fic. And if you have, give ‘em a re-read. *g*
For a complete list of Audra’s fic, check out the Master List of Numb3rs Fic at her journal.
