I'm most proud of it because this was one of the first times I could actually hear the characters voices as I wrote and I think that comes across in the fic. I also enjoyed writing the pre-series look back at Colby's high school and solider days. :)

As such, this is a fic I'm really glad to have written.

Why I'm reccing this fic: I've yet to find a story by Dira that I am not in love with but I pulled back from this because I don't care for hooker!fic. However, that's the trope – not the story. Instead, this is pitch-perfect characterization with some of the best Don/Charlie interaction I've had the pleasure to read. The weaving between pre-series and the current is incredibly well-done as are the supporting players who come alive in a new setting but the same old characters that we know and love.
