Title: Twenty Random Facts About Colby Granger
Author: Tammy aka [livejournal.com profile] quirky_circe
Pairing/Characters: Colby/Charlie, cameos from the rest
Rating: PG
Length: 1836
Why I'm reccing this fic: I love taking characters that seem to be little more than stereotypes and putting my own spin on them. Plus this format allows me the freedom to give the reader brief glimpses of Colby's life and character without the impediment of a longer story- windows into a complete universe, as it were.

VI.

Colby doesn't publicise it, but he’s a lot smarter than he looks. Wrestling might have gotten him into college, but it was effort of the mental kind that got him his summa cum laude.

Playing the dumb farmboy is hard, sometimes, especially when a perp gives him shit about it or he has to ask Charlie to explain something he already gets, but it’s part of what he’s been sworn to do, and Colby doesn’t need the Whiz Kid’s intellect to understand that duty always comes first.

Why I'm reccing this fic: Because sometimes, you just wanna have happily ever after. I figured that with all the whumping I put my poor Colby!muse through, he deserves at least one purely fluffy fic.

He’d been fascinated by her quick mind, so like Charlie’s yet so different, by the way she talked as much with her hands as she did with her mouth, by the way her eyes lit up when she was on the verge of a mathematical breakthrough, and before he knew it, he’d found himself head over heels for the two people he knew were most firmly out of his reach.

Author: Tammy aka [livejournal.com profile] quirky_circe
Pairing/Characters: Colby
Rating: PG
Length: 4x100
Why I'm reccing this fic: I think [livejournal.com profile] emmademarais said it best: I love the idea of his sacrifice juxtaposed against the overindulgence of the season as we see it.. That, and I don't know anyone more deserving of a Christmas miracle than the brave men and women who serve, whether Indian, American, or anything else. *salutes*

Thanks for posting this here! Can I bother you to include the fic names in the subject line? Thanks. *g*

Yay! I love that an N100 Rewind made your top list! It was a really good one, very insightful and poignant. I'm glad my comment was useful here; I really do think it was part of what made the fic so moving - there was just enough shock value in that juxtaposition to give pause and what a memorable pause. :-)
