Title: Learning to Read
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mustangcandi
Pairing/Characters: Charlie Eppes (Numb3rs), Patrick Jane (The Mentalist)
Rating: PG (disdain, to be safe)
Length: 854
Why I'm reccing this fic: I love Numb3rs and I love The Mentalist. Imagining an interaction between Charlie and Patrick was just something that I couldn't pass up. I think that [livejournal.com profile] mustangcandi captured both characters and brought them to life in a conversation that I think you'll agree would most certainly take place if these two encountered one another. Do yourself a favor and have a read. : ) Enjoy!!

Title: The Reluctant Reindeer
Author: [livejournal.com profile] bergann
Pairing/Characters: Colby/Lorne (crossover with SGA)
Rating: PG13
Length: 2,450 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: Because I’ve read and re-read this fic several times and it makes me laugh every time. Plus, it won Best Crossover at this year’s [livejournal.com profile] numb3rs_awards. *g*
A brief excerpt: Colby might have freaked a little when he turned into a reindeer.

Title: No Need to Run, We’ll Get There In the End
Author: [livejournal.com profile] bergann
Pairing/Characters: Colby/Lorne (crossover with SGA)
Rating: PG13/Pre-Slash/Pre-Series
Length: 2,819 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: Because it’s a great exploration of how Colby and Lorne met in Afghanistan and a fun read.
A brief excerpt: "Nothing serious about burns and shoulder dislocation," Evan says and rolls his eyes. "Jesus, Colby."

"Well I can't feel it right now," Colby says, "It feels like nothing."

"Going to be a nice surprise once your drugs wear off then."

Heads up! Starting next week (unless someone signs up for that week) we'll be starting a series of 'Introduction to Numb3rs' themes. You're introducing someone to Numb3rs, what are the three eps you sit them down to watch, the 3 vids you want them to see, the 3 fic they just have to read? Each 'introduction' week will focus on one aspect of fandom, episodes, fanart, fic, vids, essays, etc, so start picking out your must-sees and must-reads now! (These 'introduction' weeks will not be one right after the other, but will be scattered over the next few months, interspersed with our regular themes, most likely on weeks designated for assignment that no one signs up for.)

Title: The Leap Forward
Author: Leaptad
Pairing/Characters: Charlie, Sam
Rating: G
Length: 7000+ words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This is a well written fic by an author who loves and understands "Numb3rs" and "Quantum Leap"

Leaptad has written a few very nice Numb3rs fics. But I just love her Numb3rs/Quantum Leap crossover. Here's the blurb she posted describing the fic: "Numb3rsQuantum Leap crossover. Sam leaps into Charlie to save a man who was innocently convicted of a crime, but he discovers that he's been leaping much longer than he thought."

Title: The Lost Colony
Author: Joolz
Pairing/Characters: Don, Charlie
Rating: R
Length: 26,000
Why I'm rec’ing this fic: Don and Charlie go to Atlantis!!!!! A crossover between two of my favorite shows, what’s not to like?!!
A brief excerpt: “Let me see if I understand. An alien race left code on an obscure planet in the Pegasus Galaxy, and you want me to go there to analyze it?”

Title: Magic in Numbers
Author: Dragonydreams
Pairing/Characters: Charlie/Willow
Rating: PG13
Length: 11,500
Why I'm rec’ing this fic: I thought the author came up with a great way to blend the Numb3rs and BtVS ‘verses. And can’t you just imagine it when Charlie and Willow get talking? *g*

Title: Go-Cart Charlie
Author: Red Soprano
Pairing/Characters: Charlie-centric
Rating: PG13
Length: 25,000
Why I'm rec’ing this fic: I read this fic when it was nominated for the first round of Numb3rs Awards, without really knowing anything about Medium, except of course, that she talks to dead people, and I enjoyed the story very much. I didn’t feel like I missed out, not having watched Medium, and the relationship between the Eppes boys rang very true to me.
