The writing team of [livejournal.com profile] penguingal and [livejournal.com profile] schnaucl have provided the fandom with some wonderful fic. They can be counted on to tell a great story, and among all the fic they’ve written you’ll find some angst, some romance, and the sex (whether sweet or rough) is always smokin’ hot! Their pairings vary widely and include Don/Charlie, Don/Ian, Charlie/Ian, Don/Charlie/Ian and Don/Charlie/Billy.

Their jointly written fic may be found at [livejournal.com profile] penguin_fics.

Title: Preferences [Tag to "Harvest"]
Author: [livejournal.com profile] spikedluv
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie
Rating: NC-17
Length: 1780 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: If I wrote for the show, this would be canon. *g* "Harvest" is not an episode I am crazy about but this tag makes it very worthwhile. Clean, clear prose with spot-on characterization and smoking hot porn - what's not to love?

Title: Smoke And Mirrors [Tag to "Soft Target"]
Author: [livejournal.com profile] audrarose
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie
Rating: PG-13
Length: 1004 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: The second N3 fic I read and it's still a favorite. The angst is delicious and the unsure, almost surreal atmosphere of the fic will pull you in. This is not only amazing characterization but amazing craft – a fabulous story in every way.

Title: Truth And Consequences [Tag to "When Worlds Collide"]
Author: [livejournal.com profile] penguingal and [livejournal.com profile] schnaucl
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie
Rating: NC-17
Length: 8028 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: An angsty, veristic story that is crafted to illustrate the consequences of Charlie's actions in the season four finale. It's a lot of hurt, some great comfort, and not to be missed.

In with about two hours to spare!

Title: Old Hurts
Author: [livejournal.com profile] penguingal and [livejournal.com profile] schnaucl
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie, OMC
Rating: NC-17
Length: 7913 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: A compelling story with an interesting OC from their past – plus I am a sucker for jealous!Charlie. Yet what I really love about this fic is how well Don is drawn. He oscillates between being a good friend, a good lover and a good brother. He's not perfect but he gets it right in the end.

Old Hurts

Title: Nothing In Yourself
Author: [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie
Rating: PG-13
Length: 2142 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: A gut-twisting look at Don working without Charlie and how it affects their layered relationship. The look inside Don's head is simply amazing; he's protective and angry, loving and frustrated. Spot-on characterization and one of my favorites.

Nothing In Yourself

Title: Saturation Point
Author: [livejournal.com profile] missmollyetc
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie
Rating: NC-17
Length: 2952 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This came up in a chat between friends because we all remember it – and can't wait to re-read it. A hair cut is never just a hair cut especially when it leads to hotter than fire kitchen table sex. This is porn but there's such great characterization and layers, it's definitely not without plot.

Okay, wow, yeah, this is gonna be hard isn’t it? I’ve decided to choose three fic that demonstrate different pairings that I find interesting.

Title: Temporary Reassignment
Author: [livejournal.com profile] penguingal and [livejournal.com profile] schnaucl
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie (mentions Don/Coop)
Rating: NC17
Length: 8000+ words
Why I'm reccing this fic: When the fandom opened and people started writing the incest, you could count on the angst, and it was beautiful and heartbreaking, and sometimes still you need a touch of that, and in this fic the angst just hurts so damned good, but then it’s all hotness and happy endings, which makes for the perfect combination in my book.
A brief excerpt: The days passed in a blur. He went from class to his office to home. He returned to his cognitive research and tried to nurture the small feeling of joy he got from getting into a groove and ignore the ache he felt whenever he returned to the project that had driven his brother away.

Title: Thugs
Author: [livejournal.com profile] dsudis
Pairing: David/Colby
Rating: PG13
Length: ~1200 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: Dira has written several lovely and fun David/Colby fic, but I like the way that this one shows us a piece of Colby’s back history while introducing us to his relationship with David. The underlying humor is a plus. *g*

Title: Falls Away
Author: [livejournal.com profile] leda_speaks
Pairing/Characters: Ian Edgerton/Billy Cooper
Rating: NC17
Length: 880 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: There seriously needs to be more of this pairing. I’d often wondered what would happen when Ian Edgerton and Billy Cooper met, and this fell into my lap like manna from heaven. A delightful blend of the alpha with the hotness and the sweet, if you can believe it of these two. Believe it. *g*
