Why I'm reccing this fic: In four words? How Don met Colby. This is pre-series and absolutely gorgeous. Spike never fails to deliver a spectacular fic and writes these two fabulously. Also, did I mention how freaking HOT this is? Because it's scorching.
G.I. Joe slipped onto the barstool beside Don’s. He took a sip of beer, then held out his hand. “Colby.”
“Don,” Don said, sliding his hand into Colby’s. “Thanks for the beer.”
“My pleasure.”
They sipped their beers in companionable silence, and then they both glanced at the other and began speaking at the same time.
They laughed, and Colby beat Don to saying, “You first.”
“Army?”
“Is it that obvious?”
Don glanced at Colby’s haircut, then smiled as he met his eyes. “Maybe not for someone who isn’t a trained investigator. Where are you heading?”
“Afghanistan. Two days,” Colby said, answering the question before Don could ask it.
