Trust me, the last thing I am is short on ideas. I can't even write all the ones I think of so I don't look for any externally. I just have to wait for my muse to decide she feels like writing. She is the engineer. I just shovel the coal. ;-)
If you have ideas you want written, you should write them. I don't believe there is anyone I've seen posting in the fandom on LJ who is incapable of attempting to write a fic. It's just a question of trying and understanding that pretty much all authors had to write some questionable fic before they got good at it. That journey begins with the first fic...
